Classic Truffle French Toast
Soft, golden brioche soaked in a savoury, cheesy egg mix, paired with juicy tomatoes and topped with a drizzle of Black Truffle Oil. It’s quick, easy, and packed with flavour—perfect for when you want something a little extra.
Ingredients:
4 slices of brioche or challah bread (preferably a day or two old)
2 large eggs
1/4 cup heavy cream or milk
1 tbsp truffle oil (or truffle butter, if preferred)
1 tsp truffle salt (or regular salt to taste)
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
1 tbsp unsalted butter (for cooking)
Optional: Fresh grated Parmesan (for topping)
Optional: Fresh herbs like thyme or parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream (or milk), truffle oil, truffle salt, and black pepper until well combined.
2. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add the butter and let it melt, swirling to coat the pan.
3. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated on both sides.
4. Place the dipped bread in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy. Repeat with all slices of bread.
5. Once cooked, plate the French toast and, if desired, sprinkle with fresh grated Parmesan and garnish with fresh herbs.
6. Drizzle with a little extra truffle oil for a richer flavour.
