Hot & Spicy Pizza with Chilli Olives
The secret ingredient your pizza’s been missing - Spicy Sichuan Chilli Olives. Bringing a whole lot of flavour and the perfect amount of heat.
INGREDIENTS:
1 pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/2 cup tomato sauce or pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
100g (3.5 oz) salami, thinly sliced
1 cup mushrooms, thinly sliced
1/2 cup spicy olives, pitted and sliced (like spicy chili or jalapeño-stuffed olives)
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for extra spice)
1 tablespoon olive oil
Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
METHOD:
-
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while preheating.
-
Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet or pizza peel lined with parchment paper.
-
Assemble the Pizza: Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
-
Add Toppings: Arrange the salami slices, mushrooms, and spicy olives over the cheese. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top. Add red pepper flakes for extra spice, if desired.
-
Bake the Pizza: Drizzle the pizza with a bit of olive oil, then transfer it to the preheated oven (or onto the hot pizza stone). Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Garnish and Serve: Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and a few cracks of black pepper. Slice and serve hot.
